(Stamford, CT) - American Pet Products Association (APPA) Associate Vice President of sales and marketing and founding member of the Professional Women’s Network (PWN), Marian Thielsen is proud to announce Shama Hyder as the featured speaker at the seventh annual PWN Breakfast. This exclusive networking event is set to take place during Global Pet Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 8 a.m., and will be co-hosted by the APPA Young Professionals (YP’s).
“Shama Hyder is recognized in the business world for her keynote presentations created specifically for business owners and working professionals,” said Thielsen. “Attendees can expect to gain valuable insight on how to adapt and succeed in a changing business landscape.”
In 2009 Hyder founded The Marketing Zen Group, a digital marketing agency with an emphasis on social media marketing. The Zen Group launched with only $1,500 and the company grew by 400 percent in the first year. Hyder now manages over 30 full-time team members, delivering social media and digital public relations services for clients that range from small businesses and nonprofit organizations to Fortune 500 companies across the globe.
In addition to running a successful firm, Hyder has authored five books including four editions of The Zen of Social Media Marketing: An Easier Way to Build Credibility, Generate Buzz, and Increase Revenue and Momentum: How to Propel Your Marketing and Transform Your Brand in the Digital Age which was just released in 2016. She is also an author of a weekly business column “Ask Shama” on Portfolio.com.
As a result of her success, Hyder has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Technology Titan Emerging Company CEO award. She was named one of the “Top 25 Entrepreneurs under 25” by Business Week in 2009, one of the “Top 30 Under 30” Entrepreneurs in America in 2014 by Inc. Magazine, and was recognized on the Forbes “30 Under 30” list of movers and shakers for 2015. LinkedIn named Hyder one of its “Top Voices” in Marketing & Social Media. The PWN mission is to attract and engage women from the entire pet industry. PWN provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, and promotes social and career development activities that result in greater success for the industry in total. The APPA YP’s mission is to promote career path development of young professionals in the pet industry through networking opportunities.
The PWN breakfast is not open to the public, and Global Pet Expo attendees must wear their badges to attend. The event is sponsored by the PWN and YP’s, but membership is not a requirement to attend.
Global Pet Expo, the pet industry’s largest annual trade show, is presented by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA). The 2017 Show featured 1,130 exhibitors, 3,437 booths and more than 3,000 new product launches. Additionally, 6,761 pet product buyers from around the world attended. Global Pet Expo is open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers, and other qualified professionals.
