Global Pet Expo Named ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ by Trade Show Executive Magazine

Greenwich, CT Andy Darmohraj, American Pet Products Association (APPA) Executive Vice President and COO, is proud to announce that in addition to being recognized by Trade Show Executive (TSE) for the past six years in their Gold 100 Awards, Global Pet Expo is now being recognized with the top honor of Greatest Show on Earth. The award is a result of the 2014 Show, which was also the 10th Anniversary Show

“Global Pet Expo showcases one of the strongest industries in the world, and to be recognized by the leading publication covering all trade shows across all industries as ‘the best’ is truly an honor,” said Darmohraj.  “Our Show is the largest annual pet products trade show in the world, and has gained the reputation as the must-attend event in the industry. This award further solidifies this, and to say we are proud is an understatement.  I truly believe we have one of the most hard-working, talented teams in the trade show industry. This award is about them as much as it is Global Pet Expo.”

Global Pet Expo, presented by APPA and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA), is now in its twelfth year and has made tremendous strides in terms of growth over the past decade.  The record-breaking 2015 Show featured 6,061 buyers in attendance, more than 3,000 new pet product launches, 1,051 exhibitors and 3,113 booths sold. Overall attendance totaled nearly 15,500 people with the show floor totaling an impressive 311,300 net square feet. On a truly global front, 20% of exhibitors were international, making up 213 of the 1,051 exhibiting companies. An impressive 29% of buyers were from outside of the U.S., coming from 82 countries – another clear indication that Global Pet Expo is as a key trading opportunity for companies from around the world.

Darmohraj personally accepted the award on October 1, 2015 at The Annual Trade Show Executive Awards and Summit in Santa Barbara, CA.   The event, now in its 8th year, provided an extravagant venue for networking, socializing and the unveiling of the Annual Grand Gold Awards for the largest trade shows of the year and the exhibitions that excelled in 15 other categories including marketing, execution, sustainability, public service and technology. Global Pet Expo was previously recognized for outstanding use of social media at a trade show.

Global Pet Expo 2016 will take place March 16-18 in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center.
