Best Booth Awards Announced for Global Pet Expo 2010

(Orlando, FL-March 26, 2010)- The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) are pleased to announce the winners of the Best Booth Awards from this year’s Global Pet Expo held March 25-27, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

The Best Booth Award is designed to acknowledge creative booth design and trade show marketing excellence. The awards are presented in three categories, large booth, small booth, and ‘What’s New!’ which is specifically for companies exhibiting for the first time.

In the large booth category, which recognizes booth configurations of 500 sq. ft. or more, the first place winner was Dad’s Pet Care, booth 3553. The second place winner in this category was Hagen, booth 2743.

Dad’s Pet Care’s booth was highlighted by Rachael Ray’s “Nutrish” kitchen. With a brick exterior, checkered floors, brightly colored appliances, fun photos of Rachael Ray and eye-catching product displays, this booth was inviting and a must-see stop on the show floor. Staffers wore red aprons to add to the fun spirit of the booth, and served treats and coffee to visitors. This side of the booth featured barn-style décor complete with barrels and hay, showing off other products offered by the company.

Hagen’s booth had a contemporary feel, using black and white as a back drop with high-tech TV monitors and eye-catching product displays throughout. Retro-style white barstools served for meeting purposes. Large white arches with the company logo made for the perfect entrance on either side. Sleek fish tanks on black wall units also made a splash, while white box displays adorned with silver circles served as home to products for several pet categories. Servers offered guests the royal treatment with beverages and a coffee bar.

In the small booth category, which recognizes small booth configurations of 400 sq. ft. or less, the first place winner was Seayu Enterprises with its Clean + Green product line at booth 3062.  Second place was awarded to Up Country, booth 342.

Clean + Green featured fun bright green images of tree branches, accompanied by a bird, dog and cat against a pure white backdrop. A natural colored panel featured product details and a frosted white half-wall provided privacy around a meeting table. Simple shelving served as host to the company’s product line of 100% natural, totally “green” products making it easy for attendees to understand the brand.

Up Country featured a fun black and white checkered floor surrounded by brightly colored cabinetry in yellow, aqua and green hues. A display of “Doggie of the Bride” products were a draw with bridal accessories for a pup taking part in a bride’s special day. Fun, brightly colored leashes and collars were cleverly hung on large white bones, making for a visually interesting display. Bowls and beds were also found on shelves.

In the What’s New! category, which recognizes the booth of any first-time exhibitor, Conceptual Creations, booth 3986, took home the prize. This booth featured rock walls, plants and even a coffee table with a fossil under the glass for effect. An orangutan statue welcomed guests at the corner of the booth with a basket of chocolates, and reptile products were cleverly displayed amongst the rocks. This first-time group made quite an impression with this innovative booth.
